No rotations count for a SUB-I; only as electives.

This page will be updated as requests by USUHS students are made for rotations at here in Germany:

We will pre-schedule medical students prior to the residents being placed. Residents schedules are done in May 2020 for 2020-21; once residents are scheduled then we will reopen to medical students where there is space available.

There is one rotation available at RamsteinGlobal Health Rotation:
The global health rotation at Ramstein Germany provides broad exposure to working as an international health specialist in the United States Air Force. The international health specialists work as a component of medical readiness for the USAFE/AFAFRICA Surgeon General. This four week rotation would include topics such as humanitarian assistance and disaster response, tri-service deployment capabilities, military-civilian medical partnerships, NATO medical evaluation of Role 1 and Role 2, United States National Action Plan for Women Peace and Security, Emerging Infectious and Regional African Partnerships, Country Campaign Plans, EUCOM and AFRICOM operations. When possible local conference participation will be expected and may include Aerospace Medicine or European African Military Nursing Exchange. A minimum of 12 clinic hours will be completed during the rotation and opportunities may include travel medicine, family medicine or flight medicine. A minimum security clearance of SECRET is required.  You will need a no-fee (official) passport

Objectives for the rotation include:
--Understand global health engagements in the military and civilian sectors --Participate in deployment and travel clearance processes for military members --Learn and utilize CDC/WHO guidelines for international travel to include destinations in Africa --Exposure to policy guidelines such as the National Action Plan and appreciation for how this impacts DoD operations

****Please be aware that our clinic rotations are very demanding as we are often only able to see only Active Duty here ... so rotations like Derm - expect to work full days and be prepared to learn.

You will be given time off to enjoy being in Europe. On inpatient rotations expect at least 1 long weekend for travel. On outpatient rotations you will be expected to be there when the attending is there.

In Europe, most places are closed on Sunday, it is a family day.
